Overview
The Chartered Banker MBA (CBMBA) from Bangor University is the only program globally that combines an MBA with Chartered Banker status, awarded by the Chartered Banker Institute (UK). Recognized as the gold standard in financial services, it blends academic theory with practical application, focusing on leadership, ethics, and sustainable banking. It’s ideal for professionals aiming for executive roles or career advancement in the sector.
The CBMBA is delivered entirely through distance learning, offering maximum flexibility. Participants can join live online seminars or study independently using recorded lectures, study guides, and Bangor University’s extensive eLibrary.
Intakes are in April and October. Fees for 2025/26 range from GBP £13,100 to £20,500, with scholarships available. Payments in USD or JMD, as well as instalment plans, are supported.

- Compulsory ModulesCompulsory modules are assessed by a 2,000-word assignment and a two-hour computer-based open-book exam. All Compulsory Modules are required on the Full CBMBA programme.8
- Optional ModulesOptional modules are project-based and assessed by a 3,500-word assignment. A total of four Optional Modules can be chosen on the Full CBMBA programme.7
- Study Single ModulesSingle modules are delivered over a 6-month semester and are available for standalone study at a cost of GBP £1,700. Candidates will be awarded 15 postgraduate credits for every module successfully completed, and may later be applied towards the CBMBA or other postgraduate qualifications.0
